National Best Farmer pays courtesy call on Kpembewura Alhaji Abubakari

Kpembewura took the opportunity to highlight the need for the Best Farmer to lead efforts at addressing post harvest losses in the District by working with colleague farmers. George Asamoah Amankwah, National Best Farmer, accepted the challenge and informed Kpembewura that he has started work on it and by visiting the East Gonja District, he is sharing experiences and forging relevant partnerships to halt the challenge. George used the opportunity to inform the Chief about his interest to invest in the Katanga rice field.The National Best Farmer was accompanied by the East Gonja District DCE Hon. Lukeman Aminu.

George Amankwah is adjudged National Best Farmer for 2014

George Asamoah Amankwah of Europa farms in the Western region has emerged as the National Best Farmer for 2014. The 49-year old Asamoah Amankwah with one wife and three children has been farming for 17 years. He emerged tops among other farmers with 129 acres of maize, 6,800 plantation farm, 20 acres of pepper and okra farms, plantain intercrop of 6000 acres , 25000 mounds of yam, 20 acres of oil farm, 147 cattle and three fish ponds with catfish and tilapia, and a host of other farm produce.
